The Louisville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section will host a candidate forum at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, in the Louisville Bar Center, 600 W. Main St. in downtown Louisville.
Four Democratic candidates — Carol H. Cobb, Stephen P. Ryan, Thomas A. Van De Rostyne and Thomas B. Wine — will be in attendance. Because no candidates from the Republican or other parties filed to run, the winner of the May primary faces a clear path to victory in November.
Through a panel of facilitators, each candidate will be asked select questions that were solicited through an open request from stakeholders in the local criminal justice system including prosecutors, public defenders, private criminal defense attorneys, clerks, court designated workers, social workers, and victims' advocates. Due to time constraints, rebuttals will not be allowed.
A meet-and-greet reception with the candidates will immediately follow the one-hour program. The candidate forum is open to the public.
