A few years back, after reaching 300 lbs., instead of trying once again to lose weight the way we’re always told to do it, I decided to learn what actual obesity researchers were saying. What I found was a lot of information we never hear about why we’re overweight, and what we can do about it.
I translated what I learned into the best language I know – standup comedy. I built the show to be fun – bust-out, gut laughter, comedy club fun. But it delivers that laughter along with cutting-edge health information that will make a real difference in how you approach your own health.
I’ve drawn on my two life backgrounds to create “The Comedian’s Diet” – comedy and education. I’m an Emmy-nominated a late night comedy writer for shows like Dennis Miller and the Late, Late Show on CBS. And I’m also a college professor, with a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, who has lectured at places like Duke, the University of Texas at Austin, and at the U.S. Naval War College. I love truly great comedy, and I love education that makes a difference, and this show lets me do both.
