John Houston: When a Man Stands Alone - The Life of the Louisville Lip Muhammad Ali
With a combination of classical theatrical conventions and his own twist of using theatre as a platform to raise important social issues and encourage the discourse on difficult topics, actor and political scientist John Houston creates a 30 minute One-Man show on the life of Muhammad Ali. His role during The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s as a contemporary of Malcolm X and Dr. King, his very public anti-war stance condemning the conflict in Vietnam, and the unyielding moral conviction, self-confidence, and selflessness that made Muhammad Ali not only a three-time boxing champion, but a true role model and a hero.
