On Saturday, December 8th from 1 - 3 PM, Carmichael's welcomes Kentucky journalist Al Smith for a signing of his new memoir "Kentucky Cured : Fifty Years in Kentucky Journalism." From a fresh start on a weekly paper in western Kentucky, Al built a chain of small weeklies and a long career in broadcast journalism. Describing himself as a “cause” journalist in and out of the newsroom, he has been an advocate for education, the arts and economic development. Al's signing is part of Frankfort Avenue's day-long "Olde Tyme Christmas" celebration. You won't want to miss this very special appearance by Al Smith at Carmichael's.
