The Louisville Lightning Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) Team is partnering with the YUM! Brands to battle hunger benefiting Dare to Care Food Bank and host a white-out themed soccer game on Friday, February 3, at Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex against the Ohio Vortex. The Colonel will Kick Hunger by kicking the game ball!
The Louisville Lightning Players have picked a Protein Pick of the Week to encourage canned good donations for every home game. Lightning fans are encouraged to bring a jar of Peanut Butter to the white-out game to receive 20% off $10 tickets purchased at the door on game night. The partnership between Dare to Care Food Bank and the Louisville Lightning soccer team will help bring added awareness and donations during the remainder of the 2012 season and through the summer. Lightning players will be making appearances and hosting clinics at select locations of the Dare to Care Kids Cafes during the spring and summer also. Details soon to follow.
“The Yum! Brands Foundation and the Louisville Lightening make a great team. We’re kicking hunger right where it matters most: in our own backyard, “ said Laura Melillo Barnum, Executive Director of the Yum! Brands Foundation.
The Louisville Lightning currently sit at second place in the Eastern Division of the PASL. The top four teams from both the Eastern and Western Division will advance to the first round of playoffs in early March.
Tickets for Friday’s game may be purchased in advance for only $7. The Yellow Cab Happy Hour begins at 6:30 with $1 Budweiser products until kick-off. All games include a free kids zone with inflatables and games for children, music, an emcee, in-game promotions for fans, and plenty of high scoring action on the field. Spectators are encouraged to join the team on the field following each game for an autograph and picture session with players.
Members of the media are also invited to attend post-game press conferences in the VIP area featuring Lightning players and coaches. For more information about the Louisville Lightning’s third season of action and to order tickets, visit the official team web site at www.louisvillelightning.com.
The first 50 fans to arrive will receive a free official white-out t-shirt. Shirts may also be purchased on game night for only $10.
