Paintings by Tom Cannady Opening Reception August 1st 5:30-9:00 P.M. In Conjunction with Kentucky Art Car Weekend the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft presents paintings by Tom Cannady. Pursuing his boyhood passion of anything auto related, Cannady’s compositions include scenes of skillfully painted vintage automobiles. Beginning in junior high school, he has been using acrylic and watercolor in a pop impressionist style to capture a unique mood from another time. He says, “Color mixed and contrasted, forming recognizable shapes, persons and eras is an exciting part of the creative process for me.” Vintage black and white photographs and memories from childhood are other key source of subject material. These reflections invoke interesting color palettes creating a new view.
