90°F7:10 PM Co-authors Kenneth Clay & Mervin Aubespin ("Two Centuries of Black Louisville: A Photographic Society") will share memories of their childhood and adulthood in Louisville.
Centering on the vibrant Walnut Street, take a walk down memory lane as we remember a community that is virtually unknown to recent generations. The neighborhood, which spanned Walnut Street between Sixth & 15th Streets, grew to become a presence in the city with numerous black businesses before the urban renewal of the 1960's.
Mervin Aubespin is a retired associate editor of "The Courier-Journal" and a community activist. Kenneth Clay is an entrepreneur and formerly the vice-president of the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
