Derby City BMX is participating in a national Olympic day event. This day allows anyone (ages 2 to 102) a chance to try the Olympic sport of BMX bicycle racing for free.
DERBY CITY BMX announces Free Olympic Day Activities
Louisville, KY – Derby City BMX announced today that they will be joining the over 300 BMX tracks around the United States participating in Olympic Day. Derby City BMX will offer FREE BMX bicycle racing on 06/23/2012 as part of Olympic Day. All Ages are welcome. Bring a 20 inch, 24 inch, or a mountain bike, a helmet (full face helmet preferred), long pants, and long sleeves. This will be a fun day to ride, and to meet other families in the community.
Olympic Day is a worldwide commemoration of Baron Pierre de Coubertin's June 23, 1894, convening of the first International Olympic Committee (IOC) meeting at the Sorbonne in Paris, and the founding of the Modern Olympic Games. National Olympic Committees (NOCs) throughout the world will also participate in the international celebration, with each Olympic Committee sending Olympic Day greetings to participating nations.
