The Southeastern Indiana Recycling District (SEIRD) announces the summer date and time for its free Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) disposal.

SEIRD’s summer HHW quarterly collection in Ohio and Switzerland Counties will be held on Sat., Aug, 11, 2012. Residents from both counties can dispose of their HHW at the Switzerland/Ohio County Recycling Center located at 19 McCreary Ridge Rd., in East Enterprise from 8am-10am. For more information telephone 812-534-2040 on Mon., 1-5pm; Wed., 2-6pm, or Sat. 8am-noon.

All products must have their original labels attached. A complete list of acceptable items appears on our website and includes: insecticides, pesticides, oil-based and enamel paints and stains (latex-based are unacceptable), cleaners, motor oil, antifreeze, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, and more.

Residents within SEIRD’s seven-county district of Franklin, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, and Switzerland can dispose of HHW at the Jefferson County Recycling Center on 6556 North Shun Pike Rd., JPG #534 year-around during the hours of Mon.-Fri. 7am-3pm and every second and fourth Sat. 8am-noon.
