The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) will sponsor their 40th Annual AOH St. Patrick’s Parade
“Our theme this year is ‘Forty Shades of Green,’” said Mark Wakefield, AOH president, “We are proud of our 40-year tradition in sponsoring the St. Patrick’s Parade. We welcome all to join us in this fun start for spring as we honor St. Patrick and celebrate our Irish heritage that so many of us share."
Join us for an breakfast that morning at 8:30 (open to the public, tickets are $10). There will be Irish dancing & music during breakfast! We will then head to noon Mass with a short awards presentation to honor the Irish person of the year.
As many as 125 units are expected again for this year’s parade that will step-off at 3 p.m. at Baxter and Broadway proceeding along the Baxter/Bardstown Road corridor. Often called the “people’s” parade, families join a mix of decorated vehicles and groups along the route. As many as 50,000 people watched or marched in last year’s parade.
The Grand Marshal will be the Irish Person of the Year who will be selected by AOH officers and members.
Opportunities are available for both unit entries and sponsorships. O’Shea’s Irish Pub will return again as the official pub sponsor and site for the judging stand.
