Maryhurst, a Louisville-based children's home and foster care agency, is launching a new series of training classes for potential foster and/or adoptive parents.

Who: Anyone interested in becoming a foster, adoptive or respite parent with Maryhurst

We are looking for families with prior foster parent experience or those who have never done this before but have a dedication to help kids!

We are looking for families in Jefferson, Henry, Shelby, Hardin, Spencer, Nelson and Grayson Counties!

Must be at least 21 years old, submit to a background check, and provide a safe and nurturing environment!

What: This is the start of 9 weeks of mandatory training, three hours a week!

Where: Training Room on Maryhurst's main campus, 1015 Dorsey Lane, Louisville, KY 40223

When: 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7

Why: To provide loving and stable homes to children in great need
