Blue Apple Players hosts "Behind The Scenes" lunches
Posted on January 15, 2008

The Blue Apple Players, a regional nonprofit theater company, is inviting the public to a behind-the-scenes look at the organization.

“Currently we reach nearly 100,000 children each year and we want to show our patrons how we’ve grown throughout the years,” says BAP executive director Paul Lenzi. “The best way to do that is to invite people into our home.”

The public is invited to attend one of the upcoming lunches at the Blue Apple Players’ home, located at 625 East Market Street in Louisville, Kentucky. Each structured one-hour lunch includes an in-depth look at the company’s educational programs and upcoming performances, a history of the impact the group has had on the community, and the opportunity to meet the staff and members of the board of directors.

Upcoming “Behind the Scenes” lunches will take place on:

Wednesday, January 23, 2008                      12:00pm-1:00pm

Wednesday, February 27, 2008                   12:00pm-1:00pm

Wednesday, March 26, 2008                        12:00pm-1:00pm

Each session will include a light lunch, and is free and open to the public. Blue Apple Players is located at 625 East Market Street in downtown Louisville. To reserve a space, please contact Trina at trina@blueappleplayers.org or (502) 587-7990.

About Blue Apple Players

Founded in 1976, Blue Apple Players is a regional nonprofit theater company headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky producing original musicals and educational theater programs for young audiences. Each production reaches across social, economic and geographic boundaries to ignite children’s imaginations and to change children’s lives. Blue Apple tours over 160 performances a year reaching nearly 100,000 youth (preK-12) in every Kentucky county and throughout a ten-state region.

In 2000, Blue Apple expanded its offerings to include interactive theater workshops & residencies and storytelling for young people.  Blue Apple now brings these education programs into schools and community centers throughout Greater Louisville to give as many children as possible, especially those most at risk for academic failure, an opportunity to experience accessible arts.

Blue Apple Players is one of 21 arts groups nationwide selected by The Wallace Foundation to receive the prestigious LEAP (Leadership & Excellence in Arts Participation) award.
