The Fifth Most Underrated City In The United States
Posted on February 20, 2008
While Louisville’s charm and individuality sometimes seem to go unnoticed, the people at Sherman’s Travel have named it in their top-5 of the most underrated cities in the United States. The Top 10 is as follows:
1. Baltimore, MD
2. Fort Lauderdale, FL
3. Houston, TX
4. Kansas City, KS
5. Louisville, KY
6. Minneapolis, MN
7. Pittsburgh, PA
8. Portland, OR
9. Providence, RI
10. Sacramento, CA
They have this to say about Louisville:
“The Kentucky Derby may be its claim to fame, but the famous horse race isn't all Louisville has to offer. Nestled on the banks of the Ohio River, this Southern city has loads of small-town charm, a cosmopolitan riverfront district, a diverse art scene (thanks to the Kentucky Center for the Arts), and a growing foodie market with its own Restaurant Row. Sports lovers should make a stop at the Louisville Slugger Museum; thrill-seekers, take a ride on one of the world's longest stand up coaster at Kentucky Kingdom; and history lovers, sip mint juleps on a river cruise aboard the Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark.”
Another top-10 ranking for Louisville? We’ll take it!
