[1] This evening, the historic Belle of Louisville [3]will be racing the Belle of Cincinnati [4] on the mighty Ohio River [5] beginning at 6 p.m.
Traditionally, the race is held during the Kentucky Derby Festival [6], but high water on the river forced KDF officials to postpone the race.
The race has only been rescheduled a few times since racing began in 1963.
For those planning to head down to WFPK's Waterfront Wednesday [7] this evening by the Big Four Bridge, the two steamboats racing down the Ohio should provide an extra exciting background to an already exciting live music event.
