Can't eat through the plethora of veggies in your garden? Stick them in a jar and eat some slow-cooked meat instead.
This Saturday (Aug. 6th) and the first Saturday of every month through October Foxhollow Farm  is hosting a slow food cookout. Take an opportunity to see and eat the pasture-fed meats, raised smack dab on the farm from which your tasting them. Foxhollow Farm encourages attendees to bring their own blanket or to enjoy their lunch from one of the many picnic tables spread throughout the farm. The ingredients found in your lunch may be purchased at the Farm Store, and while your at Foxhollow Farm, you might think of hitting up the hiking trails.
Lunch or dinner may be purchased $7 a head. The Slow Food Cook Out starts at noon and end at 5pm.
And if you time it just right, you can also enjoy a Canning and Preserving class offered from 1 to 4pm the same day. Though they've previously hosted a class titled "Canning and Preserving", Foxhollow Farm boasts that each workshop led by Jamie Shafer covers different methods of canning and preserving--so take advantage of them all! Leave the class with recipes, thorough instructions, and canned goodies.
Each workshop costs $30 a person. Pre-payment is required to register (so that they've wrangled up enough supplies).
