[1] Before the Taste of Derby and the Taste of Derby Festival, and long before the acclaimed Taste of Bullitt County, there was the Taste of Frankfort Avenue [3].
Celebrating its 20th year of bringing delightful delectables to Louisvillians, The Taste of Frankfort Avenue again descends on the Clifton Center [4] this Sunday.
Featuring appetizing menu items from over two dozen restaurants, including Volare [5], The Irish Rover [6], North End Cafe [7] and Comfy Cow, patrons are sure to be exposed to a wide variety of pleasing to the palate comestibles.
And who can eat without being entertained at the same time? The folks at the Clifton Center have prepared for patrons who are attention-impaired as well.
Local band Hog Operation [8], with their high energy bluegrass, and Louisville musicians Nathan Salsburg [9] and Joan Shelley [10] will be performing throughout the evening.
And when you're ready for some quiet time, browse the items available at the silent auction.
All proceeds from the Taste of Frankfort Avenue will benefit the Clifton Center’s [11] programming. The Center, which brings people and the arts together through varied programming in exhibits, concerts, films, plays and lectures, was built in 1929.
Since its inception, the Clifton Center has morphed from an elementary school to the home of Stage One Children’s Theatre, to performance space for community theatre groups.
In 1994, the Center became an independent non-profit, and has continued to establish itself as an diverse cultural venue.
The Taste of Frankfort Avenue, sponsored by MINI of Louisville is this Sunday, June 24th from 5-8pm at the Clifton Center, 2117 Payne St., Louisville, KY 40206.
Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 on Sunday, and may be purchased online [12] or at Carmichael’s Bookstore, 2720 Frankfort Ave. A cash bar will be available.
