Little Colonel Playhouse changes gears and gets more edgy with the musical Title of Show, opening Thursday.
In a break from Little Colonel Playhouse tradition of plays, the theatre will present the one-act musical Title of Show, which takes place for one weekend only starting this Thursday.
Title of Show will go on Sept. 20, 21, and 22 at 8 p.m. each night. A matinee show will take place on Sept. 23 at 2:30 p.m. All performances are to happen at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mount Mercy Drive
in Pewee Valley, KY.
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $12 for students. Tickets can be reserved by calling 588-1557. Due to limited space, reservations are strongly recommended. More information on the show can be found at the Little Colonel Playhouse
website. Season ticket holders will also have to purchase tickets. Keep in mind that the show contains strong language and some adult situations.
Title of Show is a musical that breaks from the Little Colonel Playhouse's play-only format. The musical features Hunter and Jeff, two wannabe playwrights who dream of making it big in New York City. They learn of a theatre competition and realize they only have a short time to create a musical for it. Hunter and Jeff get two friends, Susan and Heidi, to join them in the quest to get the production created on time.
Jeff Bowen created the music and lyrics for Title of Show, and Hunter Bell created the script. Janet Morris directed the production for Little Colonel Playhouse. The cast features Josh O'Brien playing Hunter, Bryce Blair portraying Jeff, Susan Crocker as Susan, and Jennifer Poliskie performing as Heidi.
Title of Show is not part of Little Colonel Playhouse's official 2012-13 theatre season. The first official show, The Last Romance, will open in October.
