Sweet, elderly ladies are really murderers in Arsenic and Old Lace, which opens for Hardin County Playhouse on Friday.
Arsenic and Old Lace will happen on Oct 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13 at 7 p.m. each night. Matinees will occur on Oct. 7 and 14 at 3 p.m. each day. All performances are to take place at the Plum Alley Theater, located inside the Historic State Theater complex at 209 West Dixie Ave [3]. in Elizabethtown, KY.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors 55 and up, students, and military members and dependents. Two Brooklyn sisters, on the outside in the comedy Arsenic and Old Lace, are very sweet and charitable. They even take in old men looking for a place to stay. Unfortunately, the women have a sinister side, poisoning the men. A man who thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt helps in the cover up. Mayhem ensues as a nephew finds out the murders and another nephew gets out a mental institution.
Joseph Kesselring created Arsenic and Old Lace, which Bo Cecil directed. The cast features Jay Hemphill as Mortimer Brewster, Pat Dugdale as Abby Brewster, Kim Tully as Martha Brewster, Ron Blair as Jonathan Brewster, and Jeremiah Shilling as Teddy Brewster. Other cast members include Jessica Eversoll, Mitch Curry, Michael Radford, Ernie Holt, Mike Waters, Dakota Jones, and Barbara Watts.
Following Arsenic, Hardin County Playhouse will bring forth Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Auditions for the show will go on Oct. 15 and 16, and the actual show will take place in December. Check out the audition [6] page for more information on how to prepare for the audition.
