War, love, and prejudice form the center of South Pacific, which Hardin County Playhouse will present beginning this weekend.
South Pacific performances will take place on June 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15 at 7 p.m. each night. Matinees will occur on June 9 and 16 at 3 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen at the Plum Alley Theater, located inside the State Theater complex at 209 W Dixie Ave. in Elizabethtown, KY.
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults and $13 for all others. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 270-351-0577. More information on the show can be found at the Hardin County Playhouse website.
South Pacific is a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic set in World War II. Emile, a French planter, has fallen for Nellie, an American serving in the war as a nurse. The two begin a relationship, which changes dramatically when Nellie's homegrown prejudices get in the way.
This show is the final show for Hardin County Playhouse's 2012-13 season. The Playhouse will open up the 2013-14 season with Little Shop of Horrors in August.
