Love and pirates come ashore as the Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents Pirates of Penzance this weekend.
Pirates of Penzance will take place on Aug. 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. each night. All performances are to happen at the Iroquois Amphitheater, located at 1080 Amphitheater Road inside of Iroquois Park.
Tickets for each show are $15 per person and can be purchased at the door or on the Iroquois Amphitheater website. Concessions will also be sold at the event.
Pirates of Penzance features a tender-hearted pirate who falls in love with a Major-General's daughter while at a Victorian seaside resort town. As he decides between life as a pirate (his occupation since childhood) and his new-found love, a lady on the ship also wants him.
Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert created the production, which had its first premiere in 1879.
More information on the show can be found at the Iroquois Amphitheater Facebook page.
