Walden Theatre will present multiple shows and festivals during the season, including the plays: the Tennessee Williams-penned Summer and Smoke (now playing), the rehearsal-crashing Six Characters in Search of an Author (Oct.), a young company production of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Oct.-Nov.), the Yum! Family Series Cornerstone Classic play Jane Eyre (Jan. 2014), and the adaptation of the H.G. Wells story The Country of the Blind (Feb.-March 2014).
Festival entries include In the Pony Palace/Football (part of Slant Culture in Nov.), Young Playwrights Festival 2013 (Feb. 2014), In Celebration of Shakespeare/Why Shakespeare (April 2014), and Young American Shakespeare Festival (May 2014).
All shows are to happen at Walden Theatre, located at 1123 Payne Street in the Highlands section of Louisville.
Tickets for the season are $10-$15 for adults per show and $8-10 for students and seniors per show. All tickets, when they become available, can be purchased at the Walden Theatre box office or by calling Walden Theatre at 502-589-0084.
Finally, don't forget about classes for aspiring actors, playwrights, and directors. Kids up to 18 years old can take classes related to many areas of the theatre, including acting, directing, playwrighting, and backstage. Walden Theatre even utilizes its students in the various productions throughout the year.
