In this irresistibly zany world, Mame (made famous by Dame Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur) feasts on the banquet of life. But after losing everything in the stock market crash, this high-living Manhattan bohemian must learn how to “coax the blues right out of a horn”. As Mame struggles to keep her “live, live, live” philosophy alive, she learns that through any hardship, life will go on. Featuring such hits as “If He Walked Into My Life,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” and the title song “Mame,” this joyful old-time Broadway classic sets the standard for silver-lined clouds and happy endings. Directed by the Jewish Community Center’s Cultural Arts Director John Leffert, this production stars veteran actors Melissa Combs, Gayle King, Ernie Adams, and C. Kevin Swansey.
As Mame would say, ‘Feast on the banquet of life’ with Music Theatre Louisville as they invite you to come early and stay late! Mix and mingle with the cast after the performances at the East Room Bar of the Kentucky Center, where drink specials and late night bites will also be available. Casual is always encouraged, it’s summertime!
