Part restaurant, part brewery, part smokehouse, Against the Grain stepped up to fill the void left at Louisville Slugger Field when Browning’s closed. Several rotating varieties of beer are brewed on the premises, and the menu aims to please carnivores and vegetarians with selections like beer-can chicken, pan-seared duck, and tempeh pulled pork.
Have a panini, (the chicken prosciutto comes highly recommended), muffaletta, or custom deli sandwich for lunch and pick up gourmet and international ingredients to make dinner, all in one stop at this little shop in the Vogue Center.
The goal of this new eatery on the ever-evolving East Market corridor, is to cook and serve freshly and locally sourced food. That means the menu changes as the chef’s sees fit. However one thing that diners can always expect here is seasonal, well-prepared food served up in a stylish atmosphere.
Because at least 80 percent of Harvest’s ingredients are sourced from local farms and producers, the only things that stay the same at this trendy new place are the seasonal changes. But with entrées like buttermilk fried chicken and smoked pork shoulder as the backbone of the menu, you can’t go wrong.
