A wide-ranging menu based on contemporary Southern cuisine is nudged up a bit in preparation and presentation from the typical American bistro. Be sure to try the Maker’s Mark bourbon sirloin or the cedar plank salmon.
This hip hangout is known for its live music lineup, but just as much care has been taken with the menu. Standouts include House Friez and Totz, (crisp fries and tater tots with several dipping sauce choices) the Z Burger and the Track and Field Wrap with hummus, falafel and tzatziki sauce.
Part restaurant, part brewery, part smokehouse, Against the Grain stepped up to fill the void left at Louisville Slugger Field when Browning’s closed. Several rotating varieties of beer are brewed on the premises, and the menu aims to please carnivores and vegetarians with selections like beer-can chicken, pan-seared duck, and tempeh pulled pork.
