Buying jeans can be overwhelming and some peoples worst nightmare. The pressure to find the right pair can be a hassle. With so many different brands, washes and fits, it takes a lot of work. But, when you find that special pair, its love at first sight.

Help yourself find that special pair with some helpful tips that anyone can benefit from:

  • Look for fits that make you look and feel longer and leaner, no matter what your size.

  • Darker colors tend to assist in making you look and feel thinner as well as look dressier in your denim.

  • To help stop that “muffin top“, find a higher rise instead of shorter zipper low rises. Lowers rises give the open opportunity to squeeze you in all the wrong places and create that oh so unflattering “muffin top”.

  • Avoid elaborate designs or tearing detail in them that can “date” your jeans and make them out of style before you even get them home.

  • Boot cut styles tend to typically be the most flattering on people. Especially people who are average height or taller, while straighter leg styles tend to be more flattering on people of shorter stature.

  • Make sure you buy your jeans a little bit tighter to avoid saggy stretch out after wearing them. Don’t be afraid, as long as the rise sits right, the size down will fit fine.

  • Don’t get too trendy, your money will be best spent on a more classic reliable pair of jeans.

  • Finally, when you find that perfect pair, buy two.

Don’t break the bank on denim, but higher priced pairs can sometimes be made more tailored and of a higher quality denim that may fit better and last longer. You can find great high quality jeans at local retailers like 15 ounce premium denim ( 3701 Lexington Rd,(

Genetic, Kasil, and Paige; just to name a few. 15 ounce even offers online shopping. There are many more boutique style denim havens you can find the perfect pair locally, like Clodhoppers(
