The Trews wrapped their American Residency Tour at Uncle Slayton's Saturday nigh

A solid fan base developed in Louisville for the Canadian rock band, The Trews.  Brothers, Colin (vocals, guitar) and John-Angus (vocals, guitar) MacDonald started the band in 1998 with one thing in mind – let’s play some rock n’ roll.  Their cousin, Sean Dalton (drums) and best friend, Jack Syperek (bass) came on board and poof, we have a band.  The guys are very popular in Canada and want to share their music with America.

The residency tour allowed the guys time to play in musically hip cities in the US and develop a fan base. The Trews are responsible for four albums; House of Ill Fame (2003), Den of Thieves (2005), No Time for Later (2008), and Hope and Ruin (2011).  House of Ill Fame (2003) and Den of Thieves (2005) are certified Gold and Hope and Ruin is on the way to the top. Their latest album, Hope and Ruin, is a fantastic mix of pure rock n’ roll tunes.  The title track is very popular with the folks here in Louisville, as many sang along with the band Saturday.  Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones, are all inspirations to the band and their influences are easily heard in their music.

A packed house gave The Trews an audience from Louisville and surrounding areas such as Indy, Columbus, Chicago, and Lexington.  Guests danced to the catchy, rock inspired original music while enjoying an adult beverage.  Uncle Slayton’s hosted the third and final date on the residency tour as the band heads back to Canada to take a break for the holiday season.  After touring Nashville, Asheville, Louisville, Atlanta, and Birmingham, playing three shows in each city, the four lads from up north plan to go back to work on new material after the holidays.

Plans are coming together for The Trews to be back in the states within 6 months, giving fans in Louisville something to look forward to come Spring.
