65°F3:10 AM You will only ever have one mom, and if she's anything like my mommy, she is priceless beyond measure. My own mother has spent the last twenty-three years baking things for my insatiable appetite, doing this dishes and forgoing her own hobbies to spend time working for her family. This mothers day, I want to treat my mom to an amazing meal that she doesn't have to cook, clean up after, or think about too hard. Lucky for me, Louisville restaurants are ready and willing to provide some fantastic options!
Lately in the world of food, there's been a lot of brouhaha about Umami, the fifth taste (after the more easily recognizable sweet, bitter, sour, and salty) that imparts a fuller, more savory flavor to any dish. Ingredients like aged parmesan, fish oils, and truffle impart this highly desired fifth element, and elevate simple foods into the realm of the divine. This weekend, I experienced a rush of Umami at Avalon on Bardstown road.

Basically, all my life I took dance lessons. When I moved to Louisville, I was hoping to find some group or studio where I could continue dancing as an adult. I have had a hard time finding a studio that is just classes. At my age (26), the last think I want to be a part of is a dance recital. I just want to take a weekly class to keep up my technique and get good exercise.
