So by now you’ve all heard me ramble on about local various acts gracing our fair city, how about I moved back from NYC and am still pleasantly surprised at the constant stream of great music here, and even about one of the catalysts of some of these visiting acts, Hunter Embry.

Louisville’s newest original music showcase made its debut Saturday night to a packed house at Zazoo’s. Hunter Embry, the event’s founder, who is also a musician and journalist himself, featured his own band The Bad Reeds, along with Scott Carney from Wax Fang, and Cougar Express.
For local music fans, Halloween weekend is shaping up to be pretty epic. You can follow up My Morning Jacket playing the KFC Yum Center on Friday with three more local rock and roll bands playing a Halloween concert on Saturday night, October 30 – and you can even wear your Freddy Krueger mask.
