Double stacked cheeseburger bliss at the Twig & Leaf [Food & Dining]

The Twig and Leaf is kind of like that crabby old uncle that shows up to Thanksgiving a little drunk already. He might be crotchety and smell like mothballs, but he occasionally pulls out something fantastic.

I will go to great lengths for a cheeseburger. Walking into the Twig and Leaf for brunch underwhelming.

Dating can be expensive and as fun as a trip to Fiji for a bachelor party, but more times than not the trip is followed with only good story mixed with buyer’s remorse and a shortage of coin. What’s up with the closed car wash on Bardstown Road? If you’ve walked or driven down the Highlands' main strip lately, you’ve probably noticed that the self-serve car wash on the southeast corner of Bardstown and Edgeland Avenue is now fenced off in preparation for demolition.

Keeping the stimulus money home: Good Dogs & Co.

Each week Dana McMahan will spend her payroll stimulus at a local business. This week it's a frou-frou dog collar.
“Only in the Highlands,” my husband grinned, as he picked up a hemp dog collar. Alba, our almost-year-old Samoyed, swished her fluffy white tail and passed by, uninterested. We were at Good Dogs & Co. on Bardstown Road collar-shopping, though not for the hemp variety.
