Performers were more than happy to donate their time to support Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, now in their 30th year. Sponsors and supporters sold out the venue within 15 minutes of the doors opening, leaving standing room only for the show and little discussion as to the popularity of the event, the performers.

Gillian Welch and partner Dave Rawlings transcended time and place by bringing classic Americana on a Opry-like stage to the Brown Theater last Tuesday.
 The audience of last night's Gillian Welch show at the Brown Theater was transported back in time. Perhaps to Appalachia on some front porch or crowded church hall, perhaps to the glory days of the Grand Ole Opry with the likes of Johnny Cash and June Carter, but transported nonetheless....
