Thomas Merton lives this week at Bellarmine [Highlands]

Free lecture, one-day conference celebrate writer’s ecological thought and relationship with Dorothy Day

Thomas Merton, the celebrated Trappist monk, social activist, artist and poet, died more than 40 years ago, but he is remembered every day at Bellarmine University—from the banners around campus bearing his image (“In the spirit of Thomas Merton”) to the Thomas Merton Center, which houses his artistic estate (1,300 photographs and 900 drawings, many on display).

St. Leonard parish picnic offers food, games and music [Crescent Hill]

It may be September, but the Catholic picnic community isn't done yet. St. Leonard offers entertainment and family fun Friday and Saturday evening.

Summer may be winding down, but Catholic picnic season isn't quite over. St. Leonard (440 Zorn Ave.) celebrates with their parish picnic this weekend. These festivities are set to include the usual suspects: food, booths, and several opportunities to win some major money, including a Texas Hold'em tournament tonight.
