67°F8:10 AM The Julep was a fun party held at the Galt House as a fundraiser for the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. The star studded gala had many celebrity guests and entertainment to please. Although it wasn’t as glamorously decorated as I expected, it was adequate. Since it is a fundraiser, I guess it is fair to say they need not splurge on excess luxuries. Although ice sculptures and acrobats are always cool. I would say the cocktail reception area definitely could have used more décor.
Tomorrow, Friday May 4th, The Julep will be raising money for The James Graham Brown Cancer Center. This Kentucky Derby Eve party, hosted by Honorary Chairs Coach Charlie and Vicki Strong, and Edward C. and Mary F. Glasscock, has raised over $2 million dollars for the cancer center since its inception. The lead sponsor for the party is the Brown-Forman Corporation.

Zang Toi, a NYC-based designer preferred by celebrities like Sharon Stone and Eva Longoria, is making his way to Louisville's own Glasscock Boutique August 25th - 27th to showcase his Fall 2011 collection. Toi is one of very few designers to have received a standing ovation during New York’s Fall Fashion Week this year for his masterful blending of camel, black and emerald green with choice autumn fabrics such as velvet, taffeta, and wool with fur accents.

Last night's Derby Poker Championship was a charity event to benefit Blessings in a Backpack. It wasn't uncommon to hear celebrities and pros alike shouting "Re-up! It's all for the kids!"
Among the first to go out were Real Housewives of Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson and Blue Collar Comedy's Ron White. Still going strong toward the latter part of the evening were Coach Denny Crum and Melissa Biggs from Baywatch.
This Friday, the 17th Annual Derby Eve Gala presents The Rose Ball at the historic Seelbach Hotel in downtown Louisville.
