Unique thrift store on Preston Highway holds true to its name. It's a vintage lover's playground.

You never know where you'll find that gem of a dress sure to impress every eye that has pleasure of seeing it. It may be at a high-end designer boutique, or it could be in that local shop with the far less chic facade. In fashion, don't judge a book by its cover is an understatement.

Get drunk and spend money!

Starting next Wednesday, July 28, Margaret's Consignment & Collectibles (2700 Frankfort Ave.) will begin hosting what it is calling "Wine in Wednesdays," to be held every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Basically, there will be some snacks and, yeah, some wine and a 10 percent discount on cash purchases. The building that houses Margaret's has more than 5,000 square feet of floor space. Which sounds dangerous.

Each week Dana McMahan will spend her payroll stimulus at a local business. This week a quick stop at Queen of Rags for a dress to welcome spring

Driving up Bardstown Road with a girlfriend recently I caught a glimpse of a dress. Not just any dress mind you, but the cutest little yellow dress you’ve ever seen. On a perfect spring evening, it called out to me from the sidewalk rack at Queen of Rags.
