69°F9:25 AM So last night I had to opportunity to go to my second game in two nights for the former UK Pros vs the Dominican Republic National Team. I was much happier to be close to home so that I didn't have a drive afterwards. So lets get right into the meat of it.
Last night was the first game in the two game series between the former UK players, now in the NBA, and the Dominican Republic National Team coached by current UK coach, John Calipari. So this UK fan hitched a ride and prepped himself for an evening on press row.

As the NBA embarks on their annual all star game this weekend, it’s about time I take a look at all the hoop games that’ll be happening in L.A. this year. This is the first time the All Star game event and its festivities have been in southern California since the classic game back in 1992, and this year again looks like it won’t disappoint. Granted, maybe the whole weekend is basketball without defense, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun. Plus, we have to pull for the local folks that’ll be taking the court.

It wasn't quite a championship season for the University of Kentucky men's basketball team, but it was a banner night for the program Thursday.
The Wildcats had a record five players selected in the first round of the 2010 NBA Draft led by John Wall, the No. 1 overall pick. In addition to Wall, who as everyone expected was chosen first by the Washington Wizards, UK had four more first round selections.

John Wall helped turn around the fortunes of the University of Kentucky men's basketball program in one year.
Washington Wizards executives and fans are hoping Wall can work some similar magic on their franchise.

Don't expect Daniel Orton or Eric Bledsoe to be back in a University of Kentucky basketball uniform next season.
Although neither has signed with an agent yet, which would prevent them from returning to the Wildcats, UK coach John Calipari isn't counting on either coming back to Lexington for their sophomore years.
"I think they both will (hire an agent)," Calipari said during a Monday news conference.
