With just a few weeks to go before May 7, time is running out to find the perfect topper for Derby and Oaks. While many Louisville boutiques stock an impressive range of choices, I've found them generally to come with equally impressive price tags. For example Luna Boutique (1310 Bardstown Road) stocks beautiful Christine A. Moore and Lisa Farrell hats ranging from about $165 for a cute small brimmed cloche to nearly $900 for the sweeping wide-brimmed variety.
BEST HAT WINNER
We broke the rest of the hats into categories for biggest, smallest, and home grown infield goodness. This gorgeous, carefully made hat didn't fit into any of those categories. It wins for both beauty and originality. we love it so much we have both a front and back view.
Walking into the Horseshoe Casino Showroom amidst a sea of hundreds of jubilant women and a few men peppered throughout the crowd, I suddenly became jealous that I had been unable to arrive early enough to experience the two hours of cocktails and the three course meal, clearly enjoyed by all. The lights dimmed, the boisterous attendees grew still, and the stage became live with spring fashion at the 2010 AT&T Derby Festival Spring Fashion Show.
