Smashburger opens new location today on Shelbyville Road [Food & Dining]

Created by the man behind Pizza Hut's stuffed crust pizza, the award-winning Smashburger comes to Louisville.

There is nothing quite so American as a cheeseburger with French fries and a Coke. The burger joint is the quintessential symbol of our country’s food culture, and they can be found just about everywhere, each claiming to be bigger and better than the next.

Excited About Cardinal Towne [Food and Drink]

What's Going Down in Cardinal Towne? Lots of new places to eat, that's what!

I don’t go to U of L or live near U of L, but I’m really happy about Cardinal Towne.  It’s exciting to see the growth and changes that have occurred on campus since I lived in the old Confederate Place Apartments (now called University Tower Apartments), including the fancy dining hall that is connected to University Tower.

Easter-ly things to do [Family and Parenting]

It's here. It's Easter weekend. Have you seen the bunny? How about a parade? Check this out for some ideas for the weekend.

I don't know about you but Easter weekend has almost taken me by surprise.  I knew it was coming.  I have been buying goodies to fill Easter baskets for the kids.  We've colored eggs.   I have even bought a ham for dinner.  But today, Good Friday, it HIT me.  <

Austin's Restaurant provides low-key Thanksgiving meal [Louisville newbie]

Austin's puts a little happy in an otherwise quiet Thanksgiving.

If you are like me and do not have much family close by, the holidays can tend to be a bit quiet. Instead of going to the trouble and expense of cooking an elaborate Thanksgiving meal for just two people and ending up with copious amounts of leftovers, my father and I decided to go to Austin's Restaurant on Brownsboro Road for their annual Thanksgiving buffet.

Your favorite local spot for nightlife and entertainment can also be your favorite place to eat. That’s what the people at Saint’s in St. Matthews tell me anyways.

“One thing people don’t really know about us is that our food is awesome,” manager Bruce Jarrett said.

Praiseworthy Products Tarnished by Slipshod Service [Southern Indiana]

What do you do when the local establishments have great products, but the poor service leaves you grumpy and dissatisfied? Twice now I've hit the town with the goal of having a fun, relaxing time, but instead got aggravation and stress.

There are so many advantages to buying local. So, whenever I visit a local establishment or attend a local event, I'm writing an article for it in the back of my mind. Unfortunately, the last two potential reviews have been... less than flattering. Twice now I've hit the town with the goal of having a fun, relaxing time, but instead got aggravation and stress.

Ugh.

I've decided to post my reviews anyway. Commence rant.

Westport Village summer concert series [Lyndon]

Lyndon's premiere shopping village offers great music and plenty of dining, drinking and shopping options to wind down after a long week.

It's Friday night in Louisville, and you're looking for something to do. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants in this town, along with amazing theater, museums and cinema.

But how about something a little different?
