Billy Herman's name remains all over baseball record books, and for good reason. Today, I'm looking into the New Albany second baseman.
Some time ago I received a letter in reference to an article I wrote regarding the local athletes in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The writer indicated that I neglected to mention the great Billy Herman, surprising to me because I thought I had included the New Albany second base legend.

Dave Anderson’s career in baseball certainly extends beyond winning the World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1988, but what that ring signifies is a life in the nation’s pastime, and, being from a hometown with such a close relation to the game that means even more.
