Coffee beans but no water as pipe break closes Heine Bros., other Douglass Loop businesses [Highlands]

Service returning gradually

A series of water main breakages continues to disrupt business for several Douglass Loop establishments, including Heine Bros. Coffee. The popular local microroastery has been closed since early Saturday morning, with patrons invited to visit one of their other Highlands-area locations.

Pizza and sandwich shop Fat Jimmy’s has had intermittent operations since the disruption, reopening on Sunday only to close again on Monday. As of the time of this writing, it is open again. “They’re working on it now,” says assistant manager Justin Edwards.

The 16th Annual Belknap Fall Festival returns to the Highlands next month!
It’s grown larger and larger each year since its inception, and this year will be no different as the Highlands celebrate the 16th Annual Belknap Fall Festival, held annually during the second weekend in October.  This year’s event runs October 8th from 6-9 pm and – October 9th from 11am-9pm.

This video, created by recent Bellarmine grad Theresa Hawkins for the university’s Academic Resource Center, takes viewers from the snow-covered campus of her alma mater to Norris Place, swinging down Douglass to the Loop and out onto Bardstown Road, down to Baxter Ave. and on the way back again.
