Sports legends of the Ville: The Voice [Sports]

Paul Rogers has been the voice of the University of Louisville Cardinals for years now, but more than that he's been the voice of local athletics for even longer- as such, this Sports legends segment takes a look at Roger's sports impact on the Derby City.

At the age of 25 a young man came out of the University of Kentucky, accepting a position as a sportscaster with WHAS television for their major television broadcasts.

That man was a young Paul Rogers, and he had been thrown into the mix by local broadcasting giant Cawood Ledford, armed with a distinctive and powerful voice Rogers immediately gained a following as a member of the 1976 broadcasting crew.

Rogers actually joined WHAS three years prior to that though, working in both television and radio and gaining hands on experience along with his education.

Sports legends of the Ville: An eagle, wildcat, and celtic [Sports]

We continue to look at the local sports legends, now looking at the youngest athlete we've highlighted

Beginning his career at Eastern High School, basketball guard Rajon Rondo’s credentials certainly qualify him as a relatively young, but nonetheless deserving sports legend of the Ville.

Growing up in Louisville, Rondo was surrounded by women; by which I mean three sisters. So, in an attempt to carve out a niche for himself, Rondo became a dominant force with his high school team in his junior year when talk of college scholarships began to circulate about the young athlete.

Moving to Virginia in his senior year, Rondo was a standout player at Oak Hill Academy.

Local students will live the Turkey Day tradition after raising thousands to make the trip to NYC.

While you are sitting at home watching the Macy’s Day Parade on Thursday, a group of local high school students will be living it first-hand.

The Eastern High Marching Band has been selected to do what they do best – musically march – down the crowded New York City thoroughfare during your turkey prep time this week.

Built around a golf course — where each hole is bounded on both sides by homes — Lake Forest and its approximately 1,700 residences are a go-to option for professionals moving into the community.
