It is Derby week and the Derby parties have begun. We attended Monday's Second Stride Derby Party fundraiser at Molly Malone's. It was an affair supported by those in the thoroughbred horseracing industry.
We were driving down a quiet Baxter Avenue, usually this area is full of hustle and bustle with all of its restaurants, shops, pubs.

The 2013 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event brought people from around the world to the Kentucky Horse Park. The event once again did not fail to bring the excitement of top level eventing competition to Kentucky.

Once the Kentucky Derby is over you can head on down to Georgetown, Kentucky on Sunday, May 5, and visit the retired thoroughbred racehorses at Old Friends Equine's 9th Annual Homecoming event.
On Sunday May 5, 2013, starting at 3 pm, you can come down to Old Friend’s Thoroughbred Retirement Facility after the Kentucky Derby is over and help the 120 thoroughbred equine retirees that

The Kentucky Horse Park's premiere event begins today with dressage which continues through tomorrow. Saturday brings cross country jumping with amazing Rolex horses jumping obstacles that are works of art. The event ends Sunday with the stadium jumping phase.
Rolex Kentucky has begun. Wednesday the cross country course was open to walk and the first horse inspections began to determine if all competing horses were sound to begin the competition.

Country music legend Lyle Lovett and top eventing riders, including Olympic gold medalist David O'Connor, will be participating in this year's Kentucky Reining Cup event held during the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event on April 26 and 27.
