64°F12:25 PM Halloween is past, and the world is still littered with pumpkins. The carved ones have started to rot, while the specimens still intact remain as autumn decorations, perhaps destined to be consumed in bread and muffins and pie.
Three notable “healthy Louisville” events will be occurring Saturday morning. One for a good cause, one for the city as a whole, and one just for fun these three civic minded events provide ways for families to get out and do something good for themselves and the city as a whole this weekend.
Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Hike
In the city’s continued efforts to provide healthy and family-friendly activities for residents, this Saturday mayor Greg Fischer will host Louisville’s seventh annual fall hike.
Fall isn’t just the name of a season; it’s when you fall in love with fashion all over again. This season was no exception, with rich colors, beautiful fabrics and amazing textures gracing the runways. Seeing warm fur vests, sparkling sequins, and perfectly tailored looks this season, it’s no doubt that you’ll be looking like a million bucks.
Here’s a look at some fall area high school sports and what teams to look out for.
Volleyball
Girl’s Volleyball continues to be run in Louisville by a handful of schools. Schools to look out for are Assumption, this perennial powerhouse won the Kentucky State championship last year and has continued to prove themselves to be a strong competitor against whoever they’re faced up against.
It's that time of year again... yes, time to ask yourself why Flavor Flav wears that clock strapped around his neck. Well, not so much, but what if I told you it's for Flavor Flav to remind you to Spring your clocks forward and Fall your clocks back an hour each year? Yeah, I wouldn't believe me either.
The Halloween season can be a lot of fun. It's the only time when spotting zombies, mummies and other various members of the living dead is not a bad thing. But sometimes, it can be a little much for some of the younger kids.
So, what are some of the options for families that want to keep it a bit more simple? That's easy...there are several Fall Festivals around the area that offer families a great option to the usual Halloween fare.
One of them takes place tonight at Lifepointe Church in Middletown at their Fall Festival.
