Bardstown Road Farmers Market is one of the most friendly farmers markets I have ever had the opportunity to go to. Normally located in the parking lot of Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church, is located inside of one of the buildings (1722 Bardstown Road). The market only had a few venders there, but each had a variety of things. Almost every table had samples of what they were selling so that the customers knew what they would be buying; this made buying items easier for me and others as well.
The Fern Creek Farmers Market is now accepting applications for the stall rentals on their website. The web address is http://ferncreek.org/market.php. The link to get the application and send it in is on that page. This is a great place to get out there and sell some of your goods. So hurry up and sign up farmers, for a chance to get a spot in a great place to sell your locally grown items. There is also a chance for volunteering at the website if you need some volunteer credit.
It’s promising to be a VERY warm weekend, but the St Matthews Farmers Market will be rocking in spite of the temps Saturday from 8am-12pm.
Ever been to the St. Matthews Farmers Market? Every Saturday this year - May 15th through September 25th - the Beargrass Christian Church parking lot (corner of Browns Lane and Shelbyville Road) gets turned from empty blacktop into a town fair, boasting fifty or more regional and local vendors each week.
Don't ever let anyone tell you there's nothing to do in Southern Indiana, and that the only real entertainment must be had by crossing the river. Yes, there are great things in metro Louisville - but there are great events on the Sunny Side, too:
