Thanks to the Healthy Hometown Menu Labeling Initiative, local restaurants with fewer than 20 locations are able to get nutritional and financial support to add calorie counts for their menu items.

A while back, on a whim, I decided to learn Tai Chi. I didn't really know much about it, but it looked so interesting!  So I showed up at the International Taoist Tai Chi Society's Kentucky branch in Hikes Point and immediately felt welcome.  In the beginning class, you learn -- literally step by step -- the sequence of the 108 moves of the Tai Chi Chuan (taijiquan) set, "the art of longevity and health."

Local performer Jorden Dundich performs with fire, hoops, and in aerial arts but also offers healthy hoop classes. She credits her weight loss, success to hooping.

 Local  fire, hoop, and aerial performer Jorden Dundich (aka Gypsy Love) has not always been the confident performer  gracing stages and audiences everywhere with her hoop, fire and aerial performances like she does these days. She claims that boredom led her to the performances she  now shares with classes, stage performance, and street performance.
