Next-door neighbors Churchill Downs and the University of Louisville are teaming up for special ticket package called “Pigskins & Ponies Presented by Kroger” for the second weekend in November. For $25 fans will receive a seat in the new upper deck of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for UofL’s Nov. 13 football game against South Florida and a reserved seat on Millionaires Row or Skye Terrace at the Downs for horse racing the next day.

Here is quick look back at the weekend that was for the University of Louisville football team. The Cardinals picked up their first victory of the season, and the first victory of the Charlie Strong Era, with a 23-13 victory over Eastern Kentucky University to bounce back from a Week One loss to archrival Kentucky. The highlight of the win was the first career touchdown for senior wide receiver Doug Beaumont, left.

The game for the state's bragging rights is over.  And... well... I told you so.
As a big surprise to no one except Louisville Cardinal fans, the University of Kentucky Wildcats won the battle to keep state bragging rights for the next year.  It wasn’t always pretty, it wasn’t always competitive, but it was always UK all game.
