68°F12:55 PM Sometimes I find Italian food a little too heavy for the warmer months—we are weeks from bikini season and my midsection is still as doughy as a half cooked cinnamon roll. Volare, on Frankfort Avenue, has clearly anticipated this need for lighter springier fare, as they have introduced some new menu items specifically for the season. Of course, Volare will still be serving the Prime Italian food it always does (including the best darn pasta in town) with a side of panache.
I believe the spirit of a culture is encapsulated in the cuisine. Italian food is full bodied and indulgent, simmering with strong flavor and the textures of luxury. Volare, on 2300 Frankfort Avenue, serves the best Italian food I've had the pleasure to devour in our weird and wacky town.
The Venetian Carnevale is a wild celebration and festival centered around practical jokes, the wearing of elaborate masks, parades, costume parties, and of course (as all celebrations must be) delectable food. The Frankfort Avenue restaurant Volare, at 2300 Frankfort Avenue is celebrating Carnevale with a gorgeous four course tasting menu, live music and masquerade fun for the next three day, February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.
