68°F12:55 PM On Fat Fridays, TARC and the neighborhood association sponsoring the Trolley Hop that month always has something exciting in store for you. This Fat Friday the Frankfort Avenue Business Association (FABA) and TARC Transportation came together with the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center and many local businesses down Frankfort Avenue to provide an evening of relaxation, arts, entertainment and support for the community.
Previewing at Mellwood this month were 2 new Galleries, The Kore Gallery and Meg Krakowiak Gallery & Studio.
To some, it may seem as though Kentucky's win over the Louisville Cardinals this past Saturday was like Christmas come nine months early. But in only a week, the most important holiday of the Christian calendar, to which Christmas plays second fiddle, will be upon us. To celebrate Easter, the Frankfort Avenue Business Association invites families of all background and creeds this Saturday, April 7, to its 20th Annual Easter Parade.
A year ago, brand-new and zealous members of the Crescent Hill neighborhood, my wife and I invited friends to join us an early December afternoon so we could all partake in the festivities that were promised to be part of Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue.
Unfortunately, either as a product of our unfamiliarity with the neighborhood or our lack of understanding regarding the event, we never found/made it to the party. This year, I sure hope it is a different experience.
As if the Frankfort Avenue Trolley Hop isn’t usually enough fun on its own, this month the normal outing gets a seasonal treatment with the “Halloween Hop.”
Friday (October 29th) from 6-10:30pm, business participants along Frankfort Avenue will decorate and hand out candy for the kiddos, along with offering specials and sales just for the evening. And here is a hint: dress up yourself and you are much more likely to cash in on some deals.
