Kentucky School of Art presents Taking Painting to the next Level on May 10
Kentucky School of Art will be presenting the work of second-year painting students at the Gallery at Whisky Row Lofts with a free event on May 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Kentucky School of Art will be presenting the work of second-year painting students at the Gallery at Whisky Row Lofts on Thursday, May 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a show titled "Taking Painting to the Next Level".

LOOK releases 5th edition of Louisville art gallery and museum guide [Visual Art
Monday (February 27) marks the celebratory release party of the 5th Edition of the the LOOK Gallery Guide. The award-winning guide lists art galleries and museums that are local to the Louisville and Southern Indiana areas. A release party will be at Gallery M of Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Kaviar Forge Gallery's exhibit this F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop showcased Kentucky leather artists that included Robert Black, prize winning leather worker of the Church head knot, and Steven Hughes and Tatyana Malkin of Pillywiggin Leather Inc. whose leather mask and corsets are theatrical artistic masterpiece of beauty. The leather exhibit features other artists as Craig Kaviar, Janet Strait of Swash-Bucklers, Johnny Sosbe, Sue Schofield of Inherited Leather and Walt Priddy; however on this Fat Friday it was Mr. Black and Hughes I spoke with.
The video by leather artist Robert Black was playing, showing those who were interested how to knot and braid leather. Mr. Black made a knot for me while I was talking to him, and then showed me how to do it, a decorative western braid, letting me try my hand at it. It is something I would enjoy...
