68°F1:09 PM To those familiar with the arc of Tinsley Mortimer's life, the plot of her debut novel, Southern Charm, may sound a little familiar: the heroine, Minty Davenport, is a frilly Southern belle who moves from her small hometown in South Carolina to the Big Apple in search of glamor and glitz, only to become the new "It Girl" after she is photographed for a fashion magazine. Mortimer, it seems, who is known for her line of fashion handbags and socialite lifestyle, has written an autobiography of sorts.
The Night of Silk Derby Party at Louisville's independently owned hotel, the Galt House, was a definite success. Jockey's who have won past Derby races and jockeys who rode in this years Oaks and Derby race were present and talking with guests to show their support for the Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund (PDJF).
There are many after Derby parties this Saturday that will be sure to get some good press, but the first annual Night of Silk Derby Party at the Galt House, will be the talk of Louisville for weeks to come.
The Galt House Hotel recently announced that it will be presenting an unusual Christmas event, called KaLightoscope Christmas. Throughout the hotel, the event will feature several holiday events and activities.
According to a recent press release from the Galt House Hotel, the highlight of the event will be the debut of the KaLightoscope - "a spectacular walk-through Christmas luminary experience never before seen in the United States."

Abbey Road On The River (AROTR) is the world's largest Beatles inspired festival, and it's here in Louisville this Memorial Day weekend. For the sixth year, AROTR will be at the Galt House Hotel and the surrounding yards. The festival starts today and has a variety of bands and activities ending Monday. The inspiration is not only the music, but the peace, love, and non-violence vibe that the Beatles spread throughout the world.
