Churchill Downs starts back up in October and welcomes the Breeder's cup in early November. With that in mind, I'm continuing to look at the landmark sports venues in the city of Louisville.
In an earlier article I discussed the man that made Churchill Downs a reality. However, what my main question now is about the track itself, once it was built what did that mean for the city of Louisville.

The Breeders' Cup will be held this year at Churchill Downs on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5. The two-day event is the climax of the racing year and will include the best horses in the U.S. and from around the world.
The Breeders' Cup World Championships will be held Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at Churchill Downs. This is the second consecutive year Churchill Downs has hosted the multi-million dollar racing extravaganza.
