Cowboy, our 11 year-old mutt, was part of my husband's life before I was.  When my husband and I started dating, I first had to win over the dog, and over the years he's morphed from the rambunctious, chewing, lick-aholic only child to the borderline sedate wallflower in the corner.  His status as alpha-dog has been stolen away by two children that ride him and poke at every orifice.  He's never bit them, his loyalty transcends mine.  He is our family.

No Kill Louisville on a humane mission [Charitable event]

There is an organization who is fighting to turn Louisville into a "no kill" zone for animals.

I am generally not a "pet activist", but something special happened to our family last weekend.

Summer camp goes to the dogs in Lyndon! [Lyndon]

The Kentucky Humane Society is offering kids the chance to go to summer camp alongside furry, four-legged friends!

In March, the Kentucky Humane Society opened the doors of their newest location at 1000 Lyndon Lane, and it has been one of the best things to happen to our furry friends on the east end of Louisville.

On Saturday, August 16th, the Kentucky Humane Society reminds you to come out and support our furry friends at the Tuxes & Tails Gala!
“Fairy Tails” is this year’s theme as the Ky Humane Society brings the 15th annual auction and benefit to the Downtown Marriott, Saturday August 16th at 6 pm. It is black-tie optional this year, but the need is as great as ever! Guests will find both a silent and live auction of over 100 items, with proceeds benefiting the society’s local chapters. Some of the items available for auction include: Two tickets to the Ryder Cup next month at Valhalla Golf Club, a Four Star African safari, beachcfront stay in Belize, autographed Peyton Manning Colts’ jersey and much, much more.
